Christmas can be magical, full of love and laughter, warmth and joy. But for many of our service users, who will spend Christmas on the streets, it’s the hardest time of year.
Homelessness, hunger and loneliness don’t stop at Christmas. So we don’t stop either. The doors to our Hub will remain open over the festive period, including on Christmas Day, when we’ll open for dinner at 11.30am. As well as a hot meal, we’ll also hand out presents to service users, which have been donated by members of the public and local businesses.
Sonia Denham, Head of Petrus, said:
“No one should be alone at Christmas, and for a lot of our service users, Petrus is like family. Last year, we opened our doors on Christmas Day and cooked Christmas dinner for 27 service users. We knew demand would be even higher this year and we’re currently expecting 48 to join us. Our Hub will be open from 11.30am to 2pm for anyone who needs us.
“I’d like to thank the Petrus team, who will be cooking dinner and spread Christmas cheer, Dunelm, who have provided gifts for our service users and everyone who has donated to our winter warmer appeal – you’re making Christmas better for so many people. From us all at Petrus, have a Merry Christmas and a happy and safe 2023.”
We'll also be open over the holidays:

Monday 26th December - 9am - 3pm
