What an inspiring way to end a successful August by launching our new training programme Project 5!
Throughout July and the start of August, we’ve been inviting our service users to take part in our free six month training offer Project 5 for people who have faced homelessness, inequality or not had access to opportunities to succeed.
Delivered in partnership with Liverpool-based training provider The Learning Foundry, Project 5 is a unique and supportive approach to building people’s skills and confidence, which will work to break the cycle of homelessness by empowering individuals to recognise their potential.
Yesterday (Wednesday 25th August 2021) we were delighted to welcome participants to our Hub for their very first group session.
They were joined by their Employability Coach Andy from The Learning Foundry, our Learning and Support Worker Tracy as well as Head of Petrus Sonia and Service Manager Rachael.
Our Learning and Support Worker Tracy said: “There was a great feeling of positivity and a shared feeling of excitement and belonging to something new and innovative.”
Speaking about her experience of Project 5 so far, our service user and participant Hayley added: “Last week on the day of the meet and greet I was still debating whether to come or not, I talked myself into getting on the tram and when I arrived at the Hub, I was so glad I had done.
“I felt positive about seeing everyone I met last week and was looking forward to helping any newcomers to settle in, I have really enjoyed the first session.”
Head of Petrus Sonia said: “What an absolutely awe inspiring, uplifting, sing song of a launch it was. We’re skipping with delight at the beginnings of life changing experiences.”
We're so proud to be a part of our amazing participants' journeys, empowering them to achieve their goals as they move away from homelessness and challenge negative social stigma.
