What is Project 5?
Project 5 is a free training programme for people who have faced homelessness, inequality or who have not had access to opportunities to succeed.
Project 5 aims to break the cycle of homelessness by empowering participants to overcome barriers or negative stigmas and recognise their potential, through use of a unique model of engagement.
How Project 5 works
Project 5 is a free training programme to give individuals the skills and confidence to achieve their goals. It is delivered by The Learning Foundry
Taking place at Petrus Hub, it supports participants to develop their employability skills such as CV writing, communication, and teamwork and boosts self-esteem.
The programme uses a person-centred approach to empower participants to recognise that it is their direction, their choice, their future, their way and their journey.
Participants are fully supported throughout the programme by an Employment Coach from The Learning Foundry and a Petrus Support Worker.
With Project 5, participants learn at their own pace over a six month training journey, with continued support if they move into employment.
Participants experience a work placement, learn new skills, feel more confident in themselves and get ready for work, as well as taking part in a residential trip to Trafford Hall in Cheshire.
Six participants graduated from our first cohort, with all moving on to further education, volunteering opportunities or employment.
The five modules will support and focus on the individual, including:
