Huge congratulations and thank you to our brilliant Petrus Service Lead, Liz Varey, and The Regenda Group’s Assistant Director of Business, Cate Manning, who completed the Therme Manchester Marathon on Sunday! Cate and Liz ran a huge 13.1 miles each, raising £426 for Petrus on our 50th birthday.
£426 provides breakfast for 220 people for four weeks. It would give 21 rough sleepers a good quality sleeping bag and toiletries.
Liz ran the first leg of the marathon, and said: "I really didn't enjoy the first 6 miles – they were very tough! Then got into my stride and started counting down the miles until I finished! It was a brilliant experience and I am still processing everything we achieved!"
Cate completed the last 13.1 miles, and said: "The atmosphere was fantastic and the crowds were amazing – people were cheering us on and offering water, snacks and music along the way! I really enjoyed it, particularly the first 10k. I was running out of steam at the end and relieved to see the finish line and get my big coat on!"
