We're delighted to announce that on Wednesday 2nd December, our Community Store will be reopening!
Following government guidance, back in March our Store on Hamer Lane, which raises funds to help people experiencing homelessness, had to temporarily shut its doors.
It’s remained closed ever since as we worked to implement safety measures for when we welcomed back our customers and volunteers.
Just as we were due to reveal a reopening date, the second lockdown came in place, and to keep our community safe, we remained closed.
So, you can imagine how after all these months, we’re excited to say our Community Store will be open as of this week!
We connect with people from all walks of life in and around Rochdale, and sometimes further afield, and we have absolutely missed our customers.
Stores such as ours are important to not only help raise funds for our homelessness charity Petrus and sell affordable high-quality products for all, but by also getting to know the people who come through our doors.
We can't wait to welcome everyone safely back inside!
To keep one another safe, we’ve put the following measures in place:
New opening times!
We now open on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9am to 3pm.
We will also open on Saturdays from 10am to 3pm.
We are not open on Tuesdays or Thursdays.
Changes to donations
While we were closed, we were accepting donations one day a week. We will be accepting donations dropped off to the Store on Tuesdays only that have been arranged via appointment.
Do not turn up to the Store with items without an appointment as we won’t be able to accept your donation.

All donations will undergo a 3-day quarantine period.
Safety measures
We ask that everyone wears a face mask in our Store and keeps a two metre (6ft) distance from other customers and our team wherever possible.
Please follow the one-way system and try to limit handling and trying on of items.
There are 5 hand sanitizing stations around the Store for your use as well as barriers in place at the till.
Payments can be made by cash and card, but card payment is preferred if possible.
Our Store is quite large, but we want to assure you that our team will manage capacity. If we feel there are too many customers in Store, we will make use of a socially distanced queuing system outside.
No toilets are available for use in Store for the time being.
Signage will be all around the Store and we’re always happy to help!
Collections of furniture
For the time being, collections of furniture will still be on hold. But if you wish to drop off furniture, please arrange an appointment with us by calling 01706 341189 or emailing petrus.people@petrus.org.uk
All furniture donations will continue to go through safety checks as well as the 3-day quarantine period.
