You may recognise Les, he’s one of the most dedicated volunteers we have at Petrus. He was also a Petrus resident, and we’re delighted to tell you that’s he’s recently moved on to independent housing!
Les first came to Petrus many years ago via The Hub. After coming into financial problems that were out of his control, Les found himself needing a place to live and moved into Petrus Housing accommodation.
During his time with Petrus he’s learned new skills and has significantly improved his confidence. He’s worked hard as a volunteer at the Petrus Store, where helping with and moving furniture deliveries is one of his favourite things to do.
He also volunteers at PIER, where he is a part of the team working on the garden for this year’s RHS Tatton Park Flower Show.
Les said, “Petrus is a friendly organisation and we help each other. We’re one big happy family. Petrus staff are always quite decent with you”.
Since moving on to independent housing two months ago, Les continues to volunteer at Petrus.
Petrus exists to support some of the most vulnerable people in our communities. Our goal is to support residents to become ready for independent housing, by providing the right level of support and encouraging them to make their own decisions, address their barriers and become independent.
